My Story

Hey There! I’m Lauren Trevino, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Texas, and I’m here to help you realize just how amazing you are (spoiler alert: you’re stronger than you think!). There’s nothing better than seeing people tap into their inner strengths, and I’m all about helping you do just that. My style? Simple—I want to understand life from your perspective and work together to create the life you envision. Your goals, your dreams, your vision—those are always my priorities!

Now, here’s a little about me: I didn’t start out in the world of therapy. My first love was literature and education. I earned my Bachelor’s in English with a focus on education, where I got to connect with some amazing teens and adolescents. But it didn’t take long for me to see how much mental health support was needed, especially for young people. So, I switched gears and earned my first Master’s in Psychology, specializing in child psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. But that wasn’t the end of the journey—my passion for helping others inspired me to pursue a second Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

On this wild ride, I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible folks—survivors of domestic abuse at the Bexar County Family Justice Center, couples, families, and individuals at the Community Counseling Center, and teens and adults facing trauma, substance abuse, and suicidal ideations at Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. These experiences have shaped my approach and deepened my commitment to offering a safe, supportive space for healing.

When you and I work together, it’s all about starting fresh, without assumptions. I’ll make sure you feel seen, heard, and understood. I love using Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), but ultimately, it’s about what works best for you. I’m so glad you’re thinking about therapy, and I’m beyond excited to see the amazing progress you’re going to make. Let’s do this!
